Seeking help with mobile home insurance France

TruroBecky

Evening,

We come over to France frequently to buy and return to UK to sell - we have found a mobile home on a site that we are buying next week.

The mobile will be lived in by us only and not rented out.

I'm struggling to find insurance - does anyone have any recommendations?

Many thanks

Becky

@TruroBecky

Hi Becky,

Looking into your query, here are some trusted options:

Groupama offers tailored mobile‑home insurance covering structure, outdoor furniture, annexes (terrace, awning) and protection against weather, theft, fire…

MAIF insures mobile‑homes under its standard home policy, including RC and newer models (< 4 years) replaced at new‑for‑old value, plus annex coverage

AXA similarly provides a minimum RC cover, with optional add‑ons for fire, theft, water damage, natural disasters

You can also explore GMF/MAAF/MMA via group Covéa, which often include mobile‑home in their caravan or home packages

📌 Key tips:

• Insurance is required, even for personal use.

• Don’t settle for just RC—opt for a multirisk policy with full coverage (vol, tempête, dégâts des eaux…).

• You’re living there regularly, so no need for temporary “villégiature” cover.

Good luck !
