Hi all!

My friend from Ukraine has a Czech residence permit valid until February 2025. Recently she applied for a permanent job in Prague, but the company told her that they won鈥檛 be able to offer her a perm role, because my friend鈥檚 permit expires in 12 months, and they don鈥檛 know for sure if her permit will get extended. They offer her a contract for 12 months instead.

I don鈥檛 live in Czechia, so I don鈥檛 know, but maybe you could help . (1) Is the company right saying that they cannot offer her a perm role since she is on a temp residence permit? What is your experience? (2) We are afraid that if she accepts 12 month contract, then she will have 鈥渄ifficulties鈥� with aplying for a residence permit extension by the end of the year (since the immigration office will see that her employment is coming to an end). What do you think?
