You can start working only on the date of start of validity or your permit.

Hi All ,

below is my application time line

Applied date : 02/07/2019
Admissible : 22/08/2019
WP approval : 12/09/2019 (Sent to me via email by my employer)
SP:  No update yet

Work Region: Flanders
Commune : 1140 Brussels
Application type: Renewal.

SP will take some time as I keep reading on the forums.

Doubts,

1. Am I eligible to continue working as my new WP is approved ?

2. Can I approach the commune now and check for the status of my SP as my WP is already approved or should I wait for any intimation by them ?

3. My current WP expires on 28 sept. In order to continue working before I get my SP, what documents should I have ?

Hi djv14,

Even if your WP has been approved, you cannot work legally unless and until your SP is approved.

Please check with your employer regarding this.

If you WP is approved within couple of days you should receive the invite from the commune. You should go anyhow and clearly state that you RP is expiring and that they should start with renewal process ASAP. They will issue an Annex 15 ( I think) which will ensure your stay and you will be able to work.

Good luck!
