tabunama

Dear friends,

My work permit application was submitted on 4 Feb. 2022, and successfully was received on16 March 2022 (these dates for Wallonia region). Also, I have received annex 46on 28 March 2022 as well.

I submitted D-visa for me as work and for my family as family reunification on 24 March 2022.

Yesterday, I received the below email:

"

Dear Madam, Sir,

Your visa application was sent to the
Immigration Office (FPS Home Affairs) for analysis and decision-making.
As from today, we kindly ask you to not contact
the Embassy / Consulate for any questions regarding the processing of your file
as we will not be able to provide any answers.
You can track your application on the website of
the Immigration Office by clicking on the section “”
or “”. You will need to fill in your reference number and
select the Embassy/Consulate in the scroll list.
Important: if you applied for a D-visa (long stay), please be
aware that you will only be able to track your file after a period of 3 to 6
weeks. This waiting period covers the shipment of your file by diplomatic pouch
to the Immigration Office as well as the registration in their database. We
kindly ask you not to contact the Immigration Office during this time as they
will not be able to provide you with any information.
Should you have any other questions regarding
the process of your application, you can contact the Immigration Office by
email

If anyone experienced this before, what's that mean and how long it might take to receive answer/decision from the embassy.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

that's the normal process... immigration's decision is done in Brussels only.

Embassy has nothing to say about that, only immigration's department.

You'll get your visa way sooner than your spouse. It can take 2-3 months for you spouse (way faster than normal family reunion). So basically you'll go first alone in Belgium to start working, get an accommodation, start the new life, then you'll welcome your spouse.

Good question,

I summitted the visa application with WP not annex 46.

But, before receiving this email, the annex 46 was emailed to the embassy email from Bel. administration with cc to the employer.
