Resident Card is stuck in Police Enquiry

dinesh.naveen212

Hello All,

I really need some help on the process of obtaining the resident card.

I did the first registration in woluwe saint lambert commune on Jan 14 2020, after that i was waiting for police verification but the verification didnt happen.

I went back to commune on Feb end, and they advised me to wait unti 2 months (march 14). But then the lock down started and i communicated to commune through mails , and they said they recieved a negetive police enquiry, and advised me to put my phone number on the post box.

I did the same and again its a negetive police enquiry for me , When i asked the commune they say check with the police,  when i check with police they say check with commune.

It's been 6 months already and i dont have a resident card yet, also the next apoint in commune is only in july 1st week.

I dont want to loose 1 more month for nothing, could somebody help me out what should i do next??

Call the police and ask for an appointment.
They might ask you to go first to the commune (if they're really annoying), as they need a mission from the commune to check your place of residence.

Hello,

And if you were logical and basic for once!

You have been living there for a while. So you pay rent / electricity / gas / water ...

You logically have a Belgian bank account, a postal address.

So you take it all, and you go to the municipal administration on which you depend.

Like this, you will demonstrate that even without the passage of the police (who at present have other things to do), you actually reside at the address.
