rosachde

Hi

Recently I have completed 5 years in Belgium officially. But my RP is valid for another 2 years. (it is tied to a single organization).

Am I eligible to apply the for Type B card? And how should I apply?

Please revert :)

Yes you have to go to commune just tell them that you like to have B card then they will apply for you.You dont need any document.

My commune says we cannot apply for the same. Only Brussels ministry can make this decision.
When I asked how to apply for it, they said to contact them. Communes are instructed not to do the same (recently)

It's true that the decision would be made by Brussels but I don't think you can contact them directly.

You may have to apply your permanent residence permit through "Vreemdelingenzaken", not your commune.

Hi,

Any personal request must ALWAYS be made to the foreigners department of the Belgian municipality where you are registered. This administrative service will then forward your request to the services concerned. You are just confronted by an official who has decided to piss you off.

What should I do in this case?

You can contact a lawyer and ask for his help to send the request for you. In this case they will do their job correctly.

It is a simple procedure and can be done by yourself easily.

To be honest, I really don't recommend to spend hundreds euro to hire a lawyer just for this.
