F card after break up

Analucia1979

Good Morning to all : I have a question and  hoping someone has or had the same situation as mine : I had a cohabitated partnership for almost a year  and therefore I got my residency Permit card for five years and this expires in 2029 . He ended up  our  relationship and asked me to leave which I did . I have now another address , I have a permanent job contract., health insurance and studying the native language from Belgium , a week ago I got a letter from ibz saying :”The administrative file shows that you no longer have a joint establishment with and are now separated from the reference person depending on whom you have obtained the right of residence. In order to check whether you can nevertheless continue the right of residence, you are asked, in the context of Article 42quater, §5 of the Act of 15.12.1980, to transfer new supporting documents concerning your current situation. These documents will be thoroughly examined and tested against the terms of this law to see whether or not you can continue the right of residence.”

What should I do ? Should I I look for a lawyer , what documents are they  asking for and where should I call  for questions/ advice , the municipality or the ibz ? I live in Antwerpen by the way . Thank you all for your time and advices

Hi Ana

Sorry to hear that. But dont worry there is nothing to be worried.

As your residence card is based on your relationship end its over, authorities just want to see if you can hold your life in Kingdom yourself without burdening the social system.

This can be prooven by work contract, latest payslips and health insurance that you have them.

Dont worry and contact asap either with municipality and IBZ.

Good luck and best!
