Partner losing job during family reunification process

iamshook

Hello everyone,

I need an advice regarding my residence situation if someone had a similar experience. My Belgian partner and I were legally cohabiting and at the beginning of August we applied for the family reunification process so that I could reside here with him and work here. Our application was complete, and at the time of the application we fulfilled all the requirements. In the meantime, I found a job and currently working with my orange card and annex19ter. However, this week my partner got a pretty bad evaluation at work, so there is a chance that he might get fired in the coming months.

Since I am “dependant” on my partner financially, and since we won’t fulfil the financial requirement at the 5-6 months review of our family reunification application, if my partner loses a job, I am wondering whether my application will be then denied? Do they conduct additional checks at the 6th month review? Or do they consider only the file that were submitted in August? I have read somewhere here that they might ask the current payslips?

Thanks in advance for the replies!

I did the procedure for family reunification with my wife and 2 childrens my wife is the dependant in this case and she initially had to wait 9 months with Orange card but after the 6th month they requested me 6 payslips and after i sent them 2/3 week later they approved my request and wife and children got the resident permit.

@Caki90 Thank you for the reply. And do you remember whether you submitted payslips when you applied for the procedure? So basically they ask twice?

Caki90

@iamshook No, when we applied we did not send any payslips only after 6 months they asked me to submit to them… but keep it in mind one thing that every application is a history on itself, every family has different situations and always be positive and hope for the best to come.
