I am a non-EEA national currently country of residence is also non-EEA, and have a PhD from a Belgian University in Flanders. I have received an offer for a 20% contract as a Guest Professor at the university (Flanders region) for a period of one year. The arrangement entails concentrating the required working days into one or possibly two batches, during which I will be fully engaged at the university. This approach will significantly limit my stay in Belgium to less than a total of 90 days.

Considering this situation, I am seeking advice on the most suitable visa type for my circumstances and the associated visa requirements. What would be the minimum salary requirement to comply with. Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I think your university is the one who will know the answer to this question. As your employer they are responsible for your legal status there. I think there is something called single permit for less than 90 days, and if a single permit is in the game, then only your employer can apply for it on your behalf.
