Hello all,

I'm holding Syrian passport and I'm required to do scientific visa type D to join KU Leuven university. I would like to bring along with me my wife and children.

As I heard, mainly the visa application for the family is rejected and the applicant requires to do visa for his family while he is in Belgium . Could anyone share with me What is the probability that my family visa application will be rejected, if you have an idea.

@mohamadalnarabiji Well, at Mohammad, I will advise you write Belgium embassy or probably the school. Also, I will advise you apply for your visa D first and when you get to Belgium, you can invite your family.

If you have enough evidences, and sufficient funds to finance yourself and your families, it's not likely for your visa to be rejected. However, you can make further enquires.

The real question is how you're going to support your family in Belgium.

To do a family reunion, you must have at least 1850鈧� after tax + xxx鈧� per people joining you to show stable, regular and sufficient financial resources.

You all can apply at the same time. it is actually easier to apply together compared to you coming here first and then your dependents apply for family reunion from your home country.

Hi,

we have a similar situation I guess. I am going to have my masters degree at VUB this year and we applied to visa with my husband, together from our home country (Turkey).

we were told to apply together from our home country.

We have financial support (a blocked account for two), we signed a rental contract for one year. We applied for the visa at 27th of September, I got mine at 11th of August but we are still waiting for my husbands visa. His passport and documents were sent to Belgium (aliens office) at 24th of august.

i will let you know if he can get his visa soon. And then you can apply together from your home country without doubt

@mohamadalnarabiji sorry I wrote it wrong. we applied on 27/07/2022. And then they called me for an interview. I went to consulate for the interview on 10/08/2022. When I went to consulate I was told that there were some missing documents in my husbands file. We completed the missing documents at the same day. And on 11/08/2022 I got an email says my visa was approved and my husbands application was sent to Belgium as a normal procedure. Since then we are waiting for a result.
