Where in Europe?

Koarle

Hi

I am new here, but I hope to catch up soon.
I am currently living and working in France, but I am looking to relocate in Europe.  I need up to date advice on cost of living etc.
The reason for moving is that France is becoming expensive, and a lot of the services are going to be scrapped to save money.
Food prices are on a par with the UK.  (apart from French wine)
I pay approx 150€ utility bill every month (water, electrics, bottled gas for cooking, wood for heating)
The bank charges 12€ a month to have a debit card.
The 2 yearly taxes combined: 915€ a year.
Private Health insurance for 2 : 47.44€ a month (this is a discounted figure as my employer pays the rest).
Telephone/internet: 36€ a month, unlimited calls, line rental included
House and contents insurance: 120€ a year
Car insurance (basic)for a motorhome and a small car: 432€ a year
A typical supermarket shopping bill: 360€ a month (for two).

I am looking for a cheaper country, with culture, good access to airports to the UK, small town location.  Preferably near a sea or large lake . A climate milder than Mid France. Affordable property .  Any suggestions?
Thanks a lot!

Hi and welcome to ½ûÂþÌìÌà Koarle!

Each country has its pros and cons.
I would suggest you to do some research on the different forums in Europe to be able to choose a destination. Then you will be able to ask questions to other members and it will be easier for them to help!

Regards
Armand

Where in France do you currently reside?

BOSTON MAMA

I have read that Malta is very affordable, but certainly smaller than France.

Turkey has a wonderful climate and is still affordable.
