St. Vincent is a very small island. As it is not yet developed, we depend and import alot of foods, gas, etc.
Food prices are quite high, for two persons we spend just over $500.00 EC per month on necessities. Supermarkets have little variety
Salaries for locals are crap ( next to nothing benefits) . Expats are entitled to much more benefits such has housing, cars, laundry mats etc. (unfair)
Cinema tickets $12.00 EC per person ( Not sure if that has changed). Only one cinema, if there are 3 people and less, they will not show the movie.
Bring as much clothes as you like, Majority stores there are cheap clothing from Syria and china.
Gas prices, Unsure of the exact cost per gallon however it doesn't last long.
We are limited to resources and water/electric bills are usually high. Of course, this is usually taken care of for expats.
School Fees; Preschools about $300.00 EC per month, Primary schools - Private $1500.00 per term, Public $80.00 per term . High schools $85.00 per term. College $300.00 plus. These are all quotes, and some schools are free but aren't the best conditions. Education there is basic.
St. Vincent is a lovely island, Tourism is low and development is on hault. Suggestions to persons with children especially, another island with further development maybe a better choice.
