Still Thinking if I should move to Panama

GuestPoster53406

I am a Naturalized US Citizen and believe also dual citizen of Panama.  My Mother's family all live in Panama City with exceptions of some 2nd or 3rd cousins that live here in the US.  Not to go into a lot of background thoughts but have concerns moving to Panama.  Simple one is do you get English TV Stations, Amazon deliveries, safe mail courier. I know years back mailing to relatives from US, relative had a special mail service and does this still exist if you need mail deliveries. I was thinking of renting in Casco Viejo  but apartment I know of went up to $850 and now smaller unit is $750. So worry of rent going up each year.  So I did see in David, a community of 2/2 single homes renting for $375 a month. I hear it is hot there like Florida and Boquete just seems too far to live in.  I feel Boquete is more for couples and I will be single.  I don't need the nite life being in my 70s. Think maybe try Panama for a year and see if I can adjust.  I do speak Spanish enough to get by. I did visit in 2002 David & Chirique during visit to friends in Costa Rica. I met two nice ladies that assisted where to get lodging.  If I decide and price decent, I do plan to ship my suv to Panama. I do worry about medical cost & not able to use US Medicare.  Not sure how Panama will see me as an Expat or allow me a special VISA being I'm part Panamanian.

Well thank with any thoughts you may have of me testing life in Panama. My last Family Visit I was 15-yrs old.

Thanks ALL.... Alberto

No Mail delivery

Car shipping is very expensive. They sell cars here

Apt prices in the city are double what you mention

If you have family here, go through them. Everything will be cheaper.

We do have internet so English is possible.

I do have to [link under review] bother coming here if you want everything to be like it is in the US?

You need a lawyer for the visa. My friend is a lawyer and certified translator: Edgardo. ***

Good luck
