I'm originally from Germany, have lived and worked in the US for 3 years and returned to Germany after that. I've been visiting Honduras almost every year since 2006. The plan is to retire and move to Roatan with my wife in a couple of years.

Hi all, Canadian here,聽 went to Honduras about 19 years ago on business and loved it.聽 Now I'm looking at a retirement residence in Honduras and just wondering if anyone has any info on the Villas Paraiso Escondido community.

Hello CoastDog, Villas Paraiso Escondido located in the small fishing village of Balfate is a great place, the whole area is, much better than Trujillo than is a very hard place to get. Balfate is just a short drive from La Ceiba.聽 There are quite a few home available there from Canadians who bouth there ten years ago.

There are quite a few offers, you will get far better prices from the homeowners than the developer. There are also a few beachfront lots in the area where other Americans/Canadians have bought that wants to stay out of rules from HOA. Welcome, I'll be moving to Homduras in a few months. I ended up buying waterfront property on an island off the Pacific coast of Honduras.聽 Looking forward to retirement!
