Cayos Cochinos would be the first if you like real tropical small islands.

Another is light to moderate hiking just west of La Ceiba. You drive through a pineapple field to get to the entry. You park and give a guy $2.00 per person for this private area. The first waterfall at the base if the mountain is only a few steps away. The air becomes cool before you see it along the trail. Dip your feet in the river or take a cool swim in the pool and under the waterfall. Continue walking the trail you will find beautiful jungle, wildlife and a sense of relaxation. Great for a few hours or a whole day.

Go downtown La Ceiba walking and you will find lots of smiled and venders trying to sell you flip flops, clothing and whatever else is in front of you. Lots and lots of vendors. Hungry ? There's a few great restaurants. Most are more towards the mall however you may just find your "spot" that is great for you where nobody else can find you.
