haven't lived there yet, but just got back from an exploratory trip & will be moving there Sep 1. my reasons are similar to those already mentioned:

scenery/weather
fewer laws/govt intrusion
economical cost of living
outside my proverbial "comfort zone"
relative ease in obtaining 2nd passport
fresher, if not healthier, food
relaxed pace (as jimmy buffett says, "changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes"!)

ok, i have more than 5 reasons! :-P plus, i get to say i live in the islands & be the envy of my peers back "home".
