How many times can you stay 30 days

karynllanders

Hi DR folks, on another thread I asked about time for processing and approval of pensioners residencies. The question is now if I do not want to pay overstay fines how often can I come for 30 days in a year until I have a determination on my pensioners application?

Are there intervals required to leave country before coming back?  Ie. Two days, a week, month etc. Since we are months into the legal process we want to follow rules to the letter so as to not jeopardize our application.

We also do not want to do the 120 day extension as it required some of the same paperwork we already submitted. Any expertise in this area. I can’t find any information on this on internet or at immigration dept site.

If your file is in process you don't need to leave.  It's not an overstay.

If your file is in process but the temporary visa expires in your passport this would not be an overstay?

If you leave after your ID is issued probably no, if you leave temp before your ID is issued it may. Unfortunately,  I can't provide a firm yes or no because it changes daily, weekly and not to be funny but the day or immigration officer upon exit. There is no consistencia
