Ethen Royal

Hello, I am look for some information to have solar energy installed at my villa. Does anyone have any contacts in the area who can do this, or does anyone know the price range this should be around?

Following.  We are working on a large solar project in Samana.

Sorry I do not; however, the advice I can provide, since we do have a solar system here, is to find someone that can not only install but maintain and troubleshoot the system. Solar companies here treat installations as "plug and play". They can put the pieces together but don't have the knowledge to maintain or troubleshoot the systems. If someone calls themselves an "electrical engineer" here be very careful.

Price range is going to vary significantly based on what you want. Systems range from small systems that provide a little offset to your electric bill to large, off-grid solutions. The number of panels, inverters, and batteries needed, as well as the quality of each, will determine the expense. When getting quotes, be sure to know that you’re comparing apples to apples.

Also, I believe I’ve read on here that any solar installation in Punta Cana has to be approved prior to installation.  The power companies here have way too much control if you are still planning to connect to the grid.
