Nov/Dec, which weeks are best for visiting?

bermarsh

Getting ready to book tickets, but want advice to narrow our 4-week visit. Our 1st 2 weeks, whichever they may be, will be in Grecia where we will refresh our Spanish/ get a Cost Rican ear, at Academia Centroamericana de Espanol. After that, or in afternoons when we aren't studying, we want to bus around to San Ramon, Alejuela, Atenas, Heredia, or other towns you may recommend.

We thought we'd avoid the craziness of Christmas, but other than that it really doesn't matter - we're retired.

It would be really great to meet some expats, and we'll look for gringos in restaurants, but when we did our exploratory in Panama and Mexico we seemed to meet other lookers like ourselves.

Suggestions?

They are both busy months but after coming for years and now living there part time, I would choose December. More people stay home for the December holidays than the November one 😊
