Anywhere, as long as you don't count on hooking up with anyone here...

RENT,  don’t buy until you know for certain that Belize is right for you and the area you are renting in is where you want to live long term.  It’s hard to sell in Belize.

@TexItalian thanks Tex..

@phaller You are welcome. Sad, but true. Ask me how I know, lol

@hallerandart Consider Corozal on the northern border with Mexico. When you get bored in Belize hop across the border to a big city, latest movies, different culture and entertainment.

Hello! I am an American with properties on the island of Caye Caulker (South island). I am still working in the US (I'm 58) until I make the big move to one of my houses on the island, but my daughter (27) lives there and I visit at least 4 times a year. The rest of the time I have them listed on Airbnb.

I definitely recommend Caye Caulker, it a beautiful, slower paced island and the expat community is friendly.  Housing may be the only challenge, but if you stay current on the FB expat groups, you may be able to locate a rental.  If you haven't visited Caye Caulker, I highly recommend doing so.  Ambergris (San Pedro) is much larger, faster paced and has more to do, but I find it's too congested and busy for me personally. This is just my opinion.  Good luck to you!! 😊

Thank you for the insight! While I'm going to be at San Pedro I will definitely get to Caye Caulker. The slower and less crowded vibe is attractive.
