@windsortm We just moved with our dog from the Netherlands.

Find the Baha website in Belize , download the APPLICATION TO IMPORT ANIMALS, ANIMAL PRODUCTS, BIOLOGICS, ANIMAL

FEED AND VETERINARY DRUGS INTO BELIZE form (copy paste the capital letters in google and you will find it) , fill this in and email to them. Each pet has its own form, you pay $50 us for each animal to get a permit.

Than you have to show all their paperwork and vet health check papers from within 10 days of arriving, make sure your vet uses an international form!

We kept emailing and never got a reply so still got hussled at the border to pay a fine, for not having the permit with us although it was all done correctly. Make sure you get the permit and if emailing doesn't work call them.

Our dog is still getting used to the heat and especially to all the bites. Guess that in moving from Spain the heat will not be the biggest adjustment.

Good luck and if you want to know more, just let me know!

Thank you for paperwork info.  I'm very interested in the transport. What carrier did you use and what route, etc. Length of time pet was on plane, etc. Any stopovers, etc.

Would be extremely grateful for info!

@windsortm hello! We are planning a very similar thing, 5 dogs from Europe (pretty much from anywhere) to Belize. So far we have been advised to avoid Mexico at all costs (which is a bummer, since the easiest way to get there - there is a direct flight Madrid - Cancun) because of the way how they treat animals. Also, we have bull breeds, and they seem to disappear in Mexico.

Also, there's apparently a cargo flight from Frankfurt to Guatemala, and from there you can continue with a car to Belize. But I am still trying to find some company which would want such a job.

If you want to share some experiences, let me know!

I have emailed BAHA , they email me the form and the vaccine requirements, if you send me an email I can forward it

We utilized AA cargo services. BAHA was VERY helpful and responsive. A BAHA agent needs to be present when the animal enters Country. Not sure about Germany/Europe but as far as US, due rabies concerns, the trip to Belize for dogs is one way.

@Barbora.T I traveled with 1 dog from amsterdam to Cancun a few months ago and than drove to Belize.

I paid €125 for my dog to fly, no cost in Mexico and had to show all my papers. In Belize I had to pay €50 to the ministry, they made a mistake and so the customs hussled me into paying €150. Live and Learn to double check everything!

Everybody was nice to my dog. I was a bit stressed because they tyewrap the flightcase and you can not get them out as soon as you see them on the flight. Tui was our flightcompany they did have a maximum of 2 dogs per flight though.

At the customs/airport/taxi/hotel we all had good experiences. People in Belize and Mexico were friendly to dogs I did stay with my dog at all times in Mexico.

sorry late reply! I chose to fly direct. the flight had one stopover, the dog stayed in the cargo at that time (which was only 45 minutes)

I flew with Tui for €125 my dog could come with us. paperwork and vaccinations were easy, I do advise the international declaration and not one from your vet in your own language. I carried both and this helped me a lot to speed things up. People were friendly, my dog was relaxed enough.

I did give him CBD drops before going to the airport and beleive it helped.

@Barbora.T  I haven't read the same thing re Mexico as long as you stay with them. Quite a few have flown to Cancun with pets with no problem.
