How much falcon on the street?

richard hunter

I donÂ’t know the species but its grey with silvery blue tipped wings esp. in front of big pagoda 3/2 street D 10 on sat/sun morns. Never see to many birds in the air here and I miss that but I dont want to buy what might be an endangered animal in the wrong environment, I know I can build a good enclouser for it and take it for a wing ( donÂ’t know yet if wings have been clipped) also a suger monkey/squirrel . any body know about exotic species you shouldnÂ’t buy and a good www site of VN animals.

Locking birds up in small cages (compared to the sky) is cruel.

Fortunately most of the birds for sale on the streets come from animal mills and are diseased. And they die after a short life.

If you keep them in a small house/apartment you run the risk of picking up some bird-related disease.

If you really want a decent bird, from healthy stock, get them from caring breeders (and they are NOT on Le Hong Phong Street).

If you want to know anything about VN bird types, contact the (German) manager at Victoria Can Tho Resort. He also posts on Lonely Planet - the message board for drug dealers/smugglers.

Animal mill (most commonly...puppy mills) are breeders who breed their animals time and time again as soon as they are able. Where 1 dog might have 1 or 2 litters during your pets life, these will commonly have 6 or more. Ruins the animal and they are usually kept in poor conditions

Thanks Don, When I read your post I couldn't help thinking it's a lot like poor womens' lives in India and most of the world.
Just an observation, I condemn both forms and the systems that are allowing it.

I usually see the pigeons in the sky some time , and the sparrow
in the downtown

But if you want to see about the eagle or kestrel you should go to District 7 , or some where still wild near distric 1

Hope you good luck

Kathy
