Yeah, hopefully you'll get to see most of the fields before they become denuded for the winter.

The best event to witness in the rice fields here after the second harvest is when the flood gates聽 are opened and the local farmers begin successfully fishing in the fields

Made it in perfect timing to see the golden rice fields. It was beautiful. Spent a whole day just riding around the country side around Hoi An. Totally worth it. They had harvested most of it by the time we left to come back home. Ive been to Da Nang and Hoi An before but probably my best little vacation in Vietnam yet. Riding the Ha Giang loop is up there with it.

Careful about riding the loop in the dark or when raining (or both!).

A former member of the forum is still recovering 8 months after hitting a "black water" pothole up there.
