Are there any Indian schools in HCM?

sxjut

Hi,

My husband has an offer from a company in HCM,Vietnam. I would like to know if someone could let me know if there any INDIAN schools. I was able to find Global Indian International School but when I tried to call them I was getting a message "Wrong number".

Plz suggest me some good schools{not the expensive ones:)} if there are no INDIAN schools.

Thanks for the suggestions in advance.

A couple or so years ago this outfit got USD$20-million in funding from an international investor and their Singapore branch tried to set up a school here near Dien Bien Phu Street.

The building, as of last night, had no Indian school.

There are many international schools here in HCM and none are 'cheap' - even kindergartens - and fees range up to USD$20,000 for senior students plus numerous 'extras'.

They are more industrial 'for profit' school rather than 'halls' of learning.

Tomorrow I will contact a person I know in the city department where schools have to register.

Foreign, non-Vietnamese children can't attend Vietnamese schools.

heck your PM - I sent you a message.

I know this is a little off topic, sorry for hijacking. What about one of the parent is Vietnamese and the other is foreigner?

Thanks!

That s exactly my personal situation.

Everything turns on the citizenship of the child.

If the VN parent is a VK, they have to regain VN citizenship and 'sponsor' the child's citizenship.

VN schools aren't really that bad: sure many buildings need paint, and new toilets, but the education is pretty good. None of those electronic 'white boards', etc. Teacher / student rato's I have seen vary between 17 - 35 students to a teacher.

A major benefit is the work ethic they develope.
