Settling in to life

MarkinNam

I know myself fairly well and can see making new friends my biggest hurdle. As much as I love the life there, nothing beats close friends to help. Does anyone have any advice for me on this point. I'll be staying in Bui Vein area to start off then either Phu My or Thu Duc City, thanks for any suggestions.

I guess it comes down to what you like, and don't?

Find something that you are really interested in. Join a club or group. You will naturally find friends. For example if you like fishing or jiu jitsu or whatnot.

I see from your history that you are a West Aussie. If your not planning on living or working around HCM why not explore Vung Tau. Many Aussies/Kiwi's live in VT and there are regular Aussie visitors coming and going all year round.

Something to consider.

I second that recommendation, PS.

Aussies Rule in Vũng Tàu, Mark (I lived there 3 different times).

Eat at least 1 meal a day at Belly's Watering Hole and you'll eventually get drawn into some of the various activities that get organized through the regulars there.

Beer optional but highly recommended.

Thank all, I've joined a couple of groups, English group bonsai, Saigon Xanh. I'm also chasing a group which rebuilds laptops for kids, my hostess knows of 1 . Something to do on the side.
