Can someone tell me what are the regulations for travelling out of Vietnam with Cash (USD)?
What is the maximum amount you are allowed to carry when you leave Vietnam?
Thanks

Remember that the amount is per individual so if you are travelling as a couple, you can take out $10K.     Also this is the amount you can carry out without paperwork.   You can travel with more but you must have a plausible reason to be carrying the excess funds.  That's true for most countries and the $5K limit is an international thing.   Im not sure but Vietnam may differ in that it sets that as a hard maximum.

The USA allows 10K without question or paperwork.  More than that must be declared but is still allowed.

Also, Vietnam allows more than 5k to be brought in but must be declared, especially if you want to later take it back out.  It will be counted at customs.
