Imigen

Hi,
I am new to HCMC and am wanting to get involved in some volunteer work. Any advise on organizations would be amazing.
Thanks

My company is looking to set up some charity funds program too.

Just curious, is there any puppy pound or organisation to prevent cruelty of animals in Vietnam? Especially Hanoi?

First of all - never donate/give money - some outfits are straight heart-string pullers intent on collecting money.

There is one temple where they have dormitories filled with poor/abandoned children which they happily display to visitors. Not shown to visitors are the monks quarters which relatively lavishly equipped with air-con, wide-screen TV, etc.

There is an orphanage in CU CHI, run by the Sisters of Compassionate Vincent Convent, is filled with children whose parents/carers have died/become infected with AIDS/HIV and abandoned them. All the children need is visit from people who hold them, play with them, etc. There is no risk of infection - most are cleared, it was their relatives who were affected.

That was 1 of the factor I was considering and till now did not act on it.

In Singapore, the TT Durai case had an impact so huge that affected all NGOs.

Will keep on looking. Thanks buddy for the heads up! :D
