Temporarily resident card

Malcolmleitrim

I will be arriving in Vietnam soon, travelling on a 3 month visa as usual. I will spend a large part of my time this year living with my vietnamese girlfriend in her home, and she says I should have a temporary resident card. Does anyone know anything about this? Normally I stay in hotels and travel around so this has never come up before.

As a foreigner entering on a DL eVisa (tourist) , you will not qualify for a TRC.

Maybe your GF is throwing you a hint😉

Marriage to a VN would qualify you!

Hi Aidan, I suppose that's a possibility, but she seems to think that as I will be staying with her in a private house rather than a hotel, the police will have to be informed somehow. I have already told her that I don't qualify for a TRC

You can register in someones private house but I believe it is up to the home owner to register you. Hotels just know more about how to do it where as your everyday homeowner doesnt.

And right she is.

She'll have to create an account using her VN i.d., (Declaration of Temporary Address).

Once she has created the account, she will then log in and provide your particulars to register you as staying there (name, nationality, passport#, length of stay with arrival and expected departure date).

Hmmm. Not sure why my link is defaulting to An Giang.

Might be due to my Phu Quoc I.P. address(?).
