Planning to move to Vietnam

kristishka

Hello! I am new here. Been thinking on moving to Vietnam for a while. Could anyone advise some job websites? Or should i come first and then look for a job? Is it easy to make visa for all family members? I have a 4 year old daughter. Could she go to Vietnamies kindergarten?

@kristishka best to get a job before you arrive, otherwise you need to do a visa run every 30 days, fine if you are on your own but it may be more complex with children. Kindergarten wise I think you just pay for it like healthcare and everything else here.

if you can afford to do it logistically, come here first and find a job before you bring your family.

There are already a lot of Russians here trying to find employment and not having great success, so you really need to get that nailed down, otherwise you and your family will only be able to stay here 30 days at a time on tourist visas and you will have to do Visa runs to a nearby border and back in order to stay any longer on a new visa after that.

Also, your child will not be able to attend Vietnamese public school.  Only Vietnamese citizens can attend public school.  She will have to go to a private school.  Note that these schools tend to be expensive with primary and secondary schools often $5,000-10,000 USD per year and high schools often running $20,000 USD per year.

Only if a person insists on living in an expat bubble, eating only at western-food restaurants and using healthcare options specifically directed at foreigners.

Expensive place to live? Just guessing but it sounds like something that an Australian expat that lives in Thao DIen and never leaves the ward would say.
