Tax on uk pension

martynwillis

Hi all, I’m struggling to get my head around the tax regime for overseas pensions in Thailand….if my pension is slightly under the taxable threshold in the UK what rate would I expect to pay in Thailand? And what about transferred savings, are they taxable? Thanks in advance for any advice

180 day rule ,if you are here more than 180 days you pay if the money is earned in that tax year. So you need to transfer money to your Thai Bank beginning of each year. Use 2 oversea accounts so you have a clean audit trail

Hi,

I have a lot of savings in several UK bank accounts.

If I transfer this money in the future, when I move to Thailand, is it taxable?? Or as its from previous tax years will it be tax free?

I have already paid tax on it, as it is savings from wages and pension.

Also, if after I move and transfer monies that is from current tax years (pension) will this be taxable?? as it is below threshold for UK tax, but is still classed as taxable in UK.

Sorry if I've not explained very well, but can elaborate if required.

Regards

Simon
