Covid Vaccine Shot

Enzyte Bob

Well being a AntiVac person I bit the bullet and had my Vac this last Monday, here was my experience.

My Wife and Stepson had their vaccination several weeks ago. I wanted to wait for the Pfizer Vaccination, with the feeling less could go wrong. So my thinking, there is very few grains of sand left in my hourglass, so what the hell. Die of old age or the Vac, not really much difference time wise.

The venue was very well set up and organized, with first timers and booster shot people attending. If only Bureau of Immigration could be this well run and organized.

If your my age be prepared to sit down, getting up, sitting down, getting up again over and over as the line progressed. At my house I have a raised toilet and a rocking recliner making it easier for me to get up. The whole vaccination process took a little over an hour.

I had my ID's with me (13A and Drivers license) and a printed list of all my medications. I made the list of medications because when I had my drivers license physical they asked me what medications I was on and with all the long names, I just shrugged my shoulders.

Whomever looked at my list probably shrugged their shoulders also, except for when they saw low dose aspirins, this was a red flag and they had to call a Doctor over to approve.

After my shot they gave me a take home kit: cloth face mask, bar of SafeGuard soap, digital thermometer, small bottle of alcohol, face towel and a strip of Paracetamol.

My wife and Stepson had a heavy arm for three or four days. I had a temperature for three days, topping out at 38.4 C, my normal temperature is 36.4 C.

I would have liked the Pfizer Vac, but I received the SinoVac. I surely wouldn't want the Sputnik Vac, it would be hard to have faith in something call "Sputnik", after seeing many Sputnik Toys in the states in Dollar Stores.

We’re you vaccinated as an American or Filipino citizen? Curious to know if the Philippine government has rolled out vaccination programs for expats. Cheers, fellow Sinovac.

According to my stepson he went to the Pasig Municipal Hall and signed up for me. The Municipal Hall called later with the appointment time and place.

I am an (senior) American with a real marriage to a Filipina, not that it has any bearing on my getting an appointment.

For any Expat, I would go to your municipal hall, maybe that's the only thing you have to do. I hope others will chime in with any other advise.

Thanks for your reply and good to know. Cheers!

I'm British and a senior. I don't want to get into the pros and cons of vaccination. For me I need to travel for my work. Proof of vaccination will make this easier when restrictions are relaxed.

I just presented myself at the local health centre. After a few health questions, a temperature check and a blood pressure check, I was given my vaccination. I was then monitored for 30 minutes before being released into the world. It was all very quick and efficient. I have to present myself again in a few weeks for my second jab.

My better half, who is a Philippine national but not a senior, likes to travel with me when she can. She was offered and given the jab just because she was there.

Apparently there is a very low take up by locals so there is plenty of vaccine available for willing victims.

I would chime in but my post about "vaccines" mysteriously disappeared before being posted.

Very odd. Same happened to me. My response above was my second attempt.

Yep. I actually posted a new topic, never to be seen. I set up a childhood immunization program for the entire state of California and have worthwhile information to share, but.......

Today I got my first vaccine jab.

I’m here on an up to date tourist visa.

Here’s how it happened. I stopped in the barangay office for information. They sent me next door to the barangay health clinic. In turn, they gave me the website for the LGU vaccine registration. (Although I had searched the internet several times, I had never found this information).
On the registration site, I created a log in, and filled out all the information. It did not ask my nationality.
About four weeks later, I received an SMS on my phone, which gave me one hour to reply, which I did. My schedule was for the next day (today).
I went in, they didn’t really want to see my passport, it was my ACRi card which did the trick. They checked my pulse, temperature and blood pressure, asked me my medical history, then gave me the jab. No charge. Sinovac.
I return for the second shot in four weeks.

Although I did get the vaccine for the protection it conveys, I also want it for the probability of quarantine free travel in the future. I see that Thailand has opened Phatuk island for fully vaccinated tourists quarantine free, I’m of the opinion that travel will become easier later in the year.

Maybe if we reach herd immunity by December, VUA might even be restored? Fingers crossed here

Sadly that does not appear to be the case!
