Bored with inflight entertainment?

Lotus Eater

A heads up for our American friends flying into Manila later this year from San Francisco. United Airlines plans 2 daily flights from October: Night and daytime options.

The game changer though is that they will be the first airline on long haul routes to offer free inflight wi-fi in association with Starlink. Ever wished you could tune into your favourite FM or online radio station playing the kind of music you want to hear?

Moreover thr trip 777 aircraft will have a layout of 60 Business class pods, 24 premium plus reclining seats with extra legroom for standard economy passengers. Of course the significance of free wifi is a game changer and will force the competition to follow suit.

United Airlines is currently ranked 42 on the London based Skytrax Hot 100 but then again US west coast residents have restricted choice for direct flights to Manila: Philippine Airlines currently stand at 96 🙄

Nice choice Lotus, for me it seems no matter short or long hauls I seem to sleep even in cattle class but I'm sure there will be those that will love those options.

Cheers, Steve.

I wish I could just close my eyes and sleep on a flight but it never happens, just cannot do it. For me the number one thing an airline could do to make my flight more comfortable would be to give me pills or an injection that would put me to sleep for several hours. Of course I do understand that this will never happen for safety reasons and incase of emergency evacuation from the plane in the unlikely event of an emergency.

If I recall correctly Bob stated once that he is happy flying in 'Steerage'. Is that the class behind 'Cattle" ? 🤣
