POEA Agency without placement fee?

Andreas Greek

Good day to all,

A lot of companies in Greece are looking for personnel from Philippines either for seasonal or full time employment. Most of the agencies are asking for placement fee which is normal to a certain extend but I don't know if is legit.

Is anyone aware of any POEA accredited agency that is not asking for placement fees?

Thank you in advance.

Beware! POEA accredited agencies are mostly corrupt parasites. Agencies are allowed to charge a placement fee of up to one month's expected salary. In practice they will demand a much larger amount for which they will not issue a receipt. If they are to be audited by POEA, POEA is required to give notice to the agency, so that when the auditors arrive there will be no clients to question and the agency will doubtless produce receipts for fees collected which are strictly in accordance with the law, as will those used for tax returns.

If an agency refuses to give a receipt, walk away. Good luck finding an honest agency.

Some of these agencies also require the OFW to stump up the cost of the airfare to their destination, happened to an ex of mine when she accepted a contract to work in Singapore and I have a Filipina friend who had to do the same when accepting an offer to work in Hong Kong.

I am not sure of your situation but I noticed that you lived in Bicol for a while and you did mention on one thread that you had a wife and baby so I take it that you are now in Crete and your wife and child are still in the Philippines and that you are trying to find her a job in Greece. Why do you not just look at a spousal visa for her and moving her over to Greece?

Detective Cherry, well done mate. No charge either.

Cheers, Steve.
