I don't know about US expats but they way it seems to work here in Philippines is, expats arrive here in the Philippines from whatever country, some as US some, UK expats and some as Aussie expats and eventually by some sort of necessity the US expats all manage meet up, with UK expats, Australian expats, Norwegian expats, French expats etc etc and pretty soon we are all just expats and regarded as such by the Philippines Government. because all have in common, as far as the Philippine government is concerned we are not Filipinos we are just FORIEGNERS .
