@Aaron Carter That may require gun ownership by a foreigner which is not possible. Maybe possible if you partnered with a Filipino citizen but I am not sure if foreigners are permitted to possess firearms here in any capacity including renting...not saying it is possible or not, just needs to be checked. I am interested in knowing as well.

Nah I’m talking rentals, for instance maybe employ a licensed person to hold a firearm safety class as part of the membership to range, if a foreigner visits and rents it’s different than owning a firearm. Maybe look into that?

danfinn

@Aaron Carter That is what I am asking. Would renting be legal when accompanied by a licensed owner? You may be assuming it would be but I am not too sure.

Aaron Carter

I’m sure it’s possible if you find the right person.

Which I think is what the OP is asking.

I have done the firing range, but I cannot possess it. There are two types of licenses. There is the carry-on you can travel with and the residential license you keep at home. My wife, a Filipina/US dual citizen, can get a residential license, which we prefer. We've seen all different types of handguns, but I wish vendors would stop showing her the Glock and the Colt 45. It's too much gun for her. We like the "Hellcat Pro Handgun" with a night vision optical sight (Make sure she doesn't shoot me in the dark by mistake. :(. ) We both agreed that this would be strictly for home defense. For those trying to do what we're doing, you want a "Type 1 license – allows a citizen to own and possess a maximum of two (2) registered firearms". For those of you going to war, I can't help you. :)

@LoneWolfNY So getting to the original question, where can people find a shooting range and hopefully skeet shoot.  You said:

I think that means you found a shooting range in the Philippines and that foreigner's can shoot there. We know foreigners cannot possess. Can you tell us where the shooting range is? All that other stuff about gun ownership can be a separate topic.

According to Trip Advisor there are a few Firing Ranges in the Philippines but no mention of Clay Pigeon Shooting. Have a look at the Mountain Clark Firing Range near Angeles City, last review on there was from some bloke from London in Feb 23 so fairly recent.

@danfinn That is correct. I could possibly own a firearm under certain conditions but do not meet the criteria. I do not know which region of the Philippines you live in. I am in the southern region. I've added the process of shooting in a shooting range as a foreigner in the video below.

Gun law in the Philippines is regulated by the Firearms and Explosives Division of the Philippine National Police. In order to possess a firearm in the Philippines, a person must be at a minimum age of 21 years and pass a background check to be issued a Possession License. They must also take a firearms training and safety course. Any history of mental illnesses or domestic violence within the individual or the family will cause an applicant to have their request rejected. The Philippines is one of the least gun restrictive countries in Asia, this is in part as a cultural legacy from the days when the Philippines was an American Commonwealth.

Most laws regarding civilian ownership of firearms in the Philippines concern registration and background checks. There is also focus on disarming various militant groups, such as the Islamic separatist groups in Mindanao and the communist rebel groups such as the New People's Army. The Philippines has also enacted laws as a result of many incidents of armed political violence during elections.

What I want to find out about is what I have to do to bring my guns over to Northern Mendenao.

Guest8964

@goldken51 Not sure how to transfer your licensed weapon from Mindanao. We chose permit class one which allows us to have two register weapons at home. License for residential ownership.

Ha ha ha great vid on the shooting range. In the US we just bring in our guns and ammo so buying by the bullet would be different. Nice package deal he got though, really fun.

only people that can register a gun in the philippines is a citizen. Don't think you could bring in guns from outside the country. For example, my wife is filipino, i am not. So she can buy a gun and carry if she gets the permit. I can stand on the side and watch, haha. I can shoot at a gun range as long as she is with me. Easy to keep a gun in the house and on the property. It just gets a little sticky if you want to keep it with you when away from your house.

i am sure there are more civilized ranges/clubs around Manila. The ones in the province is a little more rustic. there was a covered area with tables and benches to shoot from, or standing. The targets were about 50ft out; had 8" x 1/2" steel pieces to shoot at. It started raining so you had to go out into the rain to reset the targets.

Friends of a friend brought the guns; the area had to OKd by the local mayor who had to clear it with the owner of the property. Not as easy as just casually deciding to go shooting.

I was at one in the province a few weeks ago. Shot several handguns; 9mm and 45ACP and full auto AR15 (M16). These were filipino handguns and USA M16s (brand new). The ARs or M16 were full Auto. Since I had asked to do it i paid the ammo........about USD150.

i belong to several gun clubs in the USA and i enjoy target shooting, benchrest rifles and steel targets for handguns. Not easy to do that in the Philippines.

i have a brother in law that hunts shotgun and bow for deer, ducks and turkeys. He could never live in the Philippines and not hunt. i don't even know if there is any hunting. But for me I enjoy target and at least that is possible.........hard to do, but possible. You just have to know the right people.

I am sure there are probably places that might be easier to do what you want. There might even be places that offer competitive matches, that would be great. But i find that even though gun laws are looser than in the USA the people have guns for protection more than target or hunting or competition.

Guest8964

@LoneWolfNY I found out I cannot own any guns in the Philippines. So I will sell mine.
