Hi,
This is Sherpa Hossainy and I'm from Bangladesh. Currently I'm working for a Denmark-based NGO International Chittagong Hill Tracts Commission as the Coordinator for the Dhaka Secretariat. Prior to that I worked as the Communications Officer for Affiliated Networks for Social Accountability (ANSA), South Asia Region. I have also worked as a journalist and sub-editor at top English dailies in Bangladesh for almost two years. I have also been working as a freelance translator/fixer for almost two years for NGOs and foreign journalists writing for The Times, The Economist and The Global Post.
I graduated in Mechanical Engineering and did MBA in Finance. Following a brief stint in Engineering for two years I pursued journalism and communications.
My wife, who is an Australian, would be moving to Myanmar (Yangon) to work there and I'm also moving with her too (around 1 June 2012). I'm also searching for jobs in Myanmar and I'd really appreciate any advice, help and suggestions regarding finding work in Myanmar. It would also be great if we could get some preliminary idea about Yangon, its culture, society and living costs etc.
You could also send me emails here: sherpa.hossainy@gmail.com. My cell no in Bangladesh is: +88 01722 08 64 07.
Looking forward to your kind responses.
Best regards,
Sherpa
