help/guide on spouse permission to work in malaysia

rms123

hi,
i am getting married to a sabahan girl next month and i have all the necessary documents to fullfill registration of marriage and what not. however since i desire to reside in malaysia i also have the need to be able to work in malaysia, however some information from putrajaya an officer there stated that i cant work on my initial 6 months trial and i can work from my 2nd extension of 1 year they provide.

my question here is.
1. is the above true?
2. and if so is there another way to work around this? (forms to fill, anything to pay etc)

I wait for anyones response with impatience
Thanks

what are these countries called so i may search for them online?

Gravitas

Dont believe this information is on-line anywhere so you would need to direct your question to Immigration in Putrajaya.

Using quickpost:

Manpower countries (foreign workers) aren't even allowed to marry Malaysians while on their FW pass.

You may find it a better option not apply for a LTSVP and instead just find yourself a job at a salary of RM5,000 or more per month and get an Employment Pass and stay in Malaysia initially on that.

is the spouse visa and the ltsvp the same thing?

Gravitas

Yes, they changed the name to LTSVP in about 2010.
