tourist visa to (convert) work permit , is that possible now?

hi!

i am Zhar, and i am a tourist from the Philippines. I have been offered a job in Penang, Georgetown. my question is, is it possible now that my employer can apply a work permit for me since i am already here in Malaysia? and if so, how?

Get the letter of employment from your employer to immigration then they will proses the work permit for you.

so once i have the letter of employment, i will be the one to go to the immigration office and process the work permit?

well by rights your employer have to do it or at least come along with you

Yes employer has to do it normally as usually part of job offer BUT that isn't the law. Or you need to pay someone specialised to do it as doing it yourself would be difficult as all forms in Malay (and a lot of Malays struggle to understand the Malay on these forms lol)

BTW min salary 5,000 RM or you are in trouble....
