Employment pass matter

marvakmarvak

Hi everyone,

I have received a job offer in Malaysia from a company with fully foreign own company. They have appointed an agency to apply for my visa under the agency's company until the employer can register under ESD.

First of all:

Is this legal in Malaysia?

The agency is not open to discussing the company they plan to use for the application. Should I be aware of any specific issues or things to be mindful of?

Could this cause any problems for me in the future?

I would appreciate any help you can provide with these questions.

It’s legal for an agency to apply for your visa, but your employer must eventually register with the Expatriate Services Division (ESD). But, your visa validity could be affected if procedures aren’t followed and probably your employment status might be complicated if the visa is tied to the agency.

Verify the agency’s reputation Thought!

Hi @Yahya(MA), Many thanks for your reply. I'm currently checking with the agency. As you mentioned, this could be critical for release letters, cancellations, or authorized letters.

Anyhow, I sincerely appreciate you stopping by and helping with this. It helps a lot.

@marvakmarvak Anytime! Wishing you the best and I hope your issue gets resolved promptly. Take care.
