KITAP Visa Application taking 9 months

directoratthenumberschef
Hello everyone,

My name is Peter and I am a newbie to this platform. I say hello to everyone.

I have applied for a Sponsor KITAP visa (marriage visa) back in August 2021 through the local Immigration Office. It is 9 months later and I am still waiting for a reply. The local Immigration Office keeps telling me that the visa application is still being processed by Jakarta. Two months of this period were due to me having to obtain a new passport.

Does anyone have any contacts in the Jakarta office of Immigration to find out what is happening? Your assistance and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Peter

That's really long. My last one expired in October and I applied 2 months in advance, and got it in December, so about 4 months wait in total. Personally I wouldn't try to contact  a different immigration office to check what is happening because possibly your local immigration office might not be happy and secondly I don't think Jakarta is going to entertain your enquiries. What I was told from my local immigration office is that all applicants had to wait a long time, not just me. I assume you have had your photo taken and paid for the KITAP already? What are they telling you?

This seems far too long to wait. Which immigration office are you dealing with? My retirement KITAP took less than 2 months to process in March 22 by my Bali sponsor. I think even a spouse sponsored visa shouldn't take much longer.

If the OP has already come in to have his photo taken and paid the Kitap fee it means that his Kitap has already been approved. All he can do is call his local immigration office from time to time to check on when it will be ready to pick up.

@Jimbarat I have finally got my KITAP visa last week after 10 months. Thank you for your comment.

@wyngrove60 Thank you for your reply. The fee was paid in August 2021 and the photos were taken at the local immigration office in October 2021. I received KITAP visa late last week.

Congrats. You've got the Kitap now and actually that's all that matters.

Hi Peter,
From talking to our agent yesterday,  no retirement visas have been on offer since they shut them down for covid.  Sandi said that they should be starting them up again soon as well as the new digital nomad visa.
We are starting our KITAP in December and once they start the program again, the visa should take only 3 days.
If you want Sandi's number here in Bali, I can give that to you privately. (We did our B211a visa from Australia and that took 3 days. Sandi was checked out by my friend in Bali and has proved to be a wonderful agent. We just sent the documents by email).

Retirement visa costs come up a lot so good recommendations are always welcome.
As long as you aren't making a buck in commission AND you have his permission to do so, you can share his contact details here in the form of a website. It's better not to share mobile numbers or emails  on the open forums as the poor sods will get spammed to merry hell if you do.

What sort of money does he charge?
