Hi there
I'm moving to Shanghai next month-Feb2011. I'm looking for a reliable Ayi to help to take care of my baby-5months old..

We are living in Pudong and would like to have an Ayi to come from Monday-Saturday..

Also, would any recommend what is the ideal going rate for a babysistter? and general housework..

I guess you require the babysitter to live in your house. The regular rate is RMB2000 per month. I heard the lowest one is RMB1500. But I suggest you pay more.

You can find a lot of babysitter companies in Shanghai when you get there.

Hi Irene, I am from india settled in shanghai Pu dong district. I will have my wife and 10 months old daughter by next month and I will need ayi to take care of my baby and house. I have contacts who have found trustworthy nany for our family. I mean you can also place adds in classified but if you dont get any, you can contact me.

Irene, I suggest that you hire a "YUE SAO" -certified and experienced babysiter. They are expensive (about 5000 rmb), but they are much better than a regular Ayi.
