Hi all, just wondered what the situation is on the ground currently in China regarding English Language schools in light of the new legislation that鈥檚 been in the news recently. Are the big schools franchises聽 still up and running, eg English First, Wall Street, etc etc? Any changes or new legislation that鈥檚 affecting them?

I am interested to know about this too. I am trying to decide if the English teaching job 鈥渨ell鈥� is starting to dry up here and whether it鈥檚 time to repatriate myself. On the other hand, if you鈥檙e teaching EFL to adults rather than children, it doesn鈥檛 seem as though the new regulations would have any impact at all. And if you teach through an online platform, you can always recruit students from other countries. But for local teachers of young ELLs in China, I really can鈥檛 say yet what this will mean.
