I see you鈥檝e had no reply, so I鈥檒l pitch in best I can. I鈥檓 in a remote province, ours runs within WeChat, under 鈥渙fficial accounts鈥� in the search bar. Mine only works if I鈥檓 on mobile data, and knows exactly where I鈥檝e been. However I must login and enter/register聽 my temperature once a day before the timer expires and self certify my condition, or it will not generate a new green pass. Currently locked out as I missed one two days ago.

I am aware that less discerning security may accept a recent screen shot of your recent green code flashed at them.

Just for planning purposes, by the by a friend came in on a domestic flight this evening and was delayed for more than 2 hours while testing & registration was taken, despite having a good green code.

No worries. It doesn't sense your position at all.
Most places wouldn't check it nowadays.
And if you pop into some shopping malls or resteraunts who ask you to scan the QRs, they works the same way as in UK.聽 It just registers you, so the government can contact you if there was a Covid break out at the site.聽 聽 I have experienced the strictest check in hotels, who check both the Beijing health kit and your journey track on another QR via mobile operators, upon your consent. I reckon the purpose is to check whether you have been to medium or high risk cities such as Qingdao recently and it makes sense.

Was happy to see that it was still green this morning. Seems they all track you.聽 A friend had been in Qingdao before the virus started up again there. He left with his still showing green. Next day Qingdao announces it鈥檚 a problem. He鈥檚 now in a clean city but his indicator turned yellow because he鈥檇 been told n Qingdao the day before to notify him to self isolate.
Not thrilled about Big Brother鈥檚 tracking everywhere I have been.

I鈥檓 not sure it鈥檚 not tracking my position.聽 I started using the Beijing health kit.聽 I did not enter my location but it does show me that I鈥檓 in Shanghai now.聽
I鈥檓 told that they will look before I board my flight today.

I notice in Shanghai a few places I went they did temperature checks. Pointless really considering that more and more people who are asymptomatic are testing positive
