International Medical Insurance

Kaboom29

I am planning on moving to Siem Reap and retiring there. I am researching International Medical Insurance and am close to deciding on CIGNA. I am wondering if others have experience with this company and the type of coverage you find appropriate. For example, Medical Evacuation I think may be a necessity but is Vision and Dental? And Outpatient Coverage is quite expensive. I realize I am getting older an may need more medical coverage. I am just wondering if expats generally take as much insurance as possible?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I was thinking about CIGNA too, but found a better alternative that saved me 30% on a Standard Plan. Call or contact Mark Seymour at Asia Summit Consulting (ASC). My plan has everything I need and more fro AETNA. mark.seymour@asiasummitconsulting.com or call *** in Cambodia. You will not be disappointed in the options. Tell him Dr. Stephen Ronzano referred you.

Hi,

CIGNA have a good health cover but pretty expensive. Have a look on ACS or MSH, you can contact INFINITY in Phnom Penh, they are broker but it is good to get a local contact in case of emergency and I've been cover in the past with them they are professional (ask them to have a quotation with LUMIA, office in Thailand but French company), I advise you to avoid the French broker AG Service in Phnom Penh, not professional at all and the owner is kind of crazy French expat....

About the option to choice, depend on you need and of course your age, older you are, high premium to pay.
About medical evacuation most of the international insurances include this option in their price.

The question is about OUT or IN patient, if you are older than 55-60 years, the price should be around 4K to 5K/annual with a minimum garanty for dental and vision with Out patient, and 2K to 3K IN patient.

Normaly, IN will cover you just in case of emergency with MEDEVAC but be careful to their condition before to sign if you coming with asthma or any siskness ( most have 6 months probation for HIV and CANCER) they will not cover you for these pre-exisitng conditions, welcome to the insurance world!

Ask for several quotations from few brokers, FORTE, INFINITY, AIA etc. easy to find on internet

Don't hesitate to reach my in MP if you need more info about this.

Have a nice day!
