Do I need a voltage converter?

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but the husband and I will be in Cambodia (primarily PP, maybe SR for a day trip) and he has a bug up his a$$ about us getting the "right" voltage converter for the phone (Iphone 6plus) and kindles we are bringing.聽 I told him to pick up the pack of universal converter that has about 5 or 6 converters that lets you choose based on country which one to use.聽 The plan is to travel to various other countries over the years so I'm thinking for about $40, this one makes the most sense because it's gonna get used.聽 But he will have no rest in his bones until I get a definitive answer on this question.

So, for the sake of getting him to shut up and settle down, WHAT is the right converter to use to charge an American iPhone and 2 kindles while in Cambodia?

Buy a cheap ($5) box that can be used with any plugs, that's all.
Buy it here, cheaper and better.

Hope hubby can sleep now again....聽

Depending on what country you are coming from you probably don't need anything.聽 From U.S. the plugs will work fine here - Cambodian outlets are designed to take a number of types, including the plugs you mention as well as three prong plugs (i.e., grounded).聽 And any modern phone or computer type thingy is rated to handle 100-240v - so no converter is needed. I brought one adapter in case I needed it, and have yet to use it.聽 I regularly plug in my iphone 6 and my laptop and ipad to recharge here (all from US) and no problem.聽 The only time you need a converter is if you have something that is ONLY rated up to 125v... then you might melt it using the 240v outlets here without a converter.聽 Just look on the back of your stuff to see its rating.聽 If you really want something useful, the only thing I recommend is a surge protector, as electricity here tends to go out more frequently.聽 Protecting against the surge on your stuff is nice.聽聽
