Questions about things to do in Nigeria :)

rhealeth

Hello everyone! My company is expanding in Nigeria, and I'm considering staying there for a few weeks or a couple of months to participate in the expansion.

Our office is in Lagos. I'm thinking, if ever I'm going to Nigeria, I would love to get to know more people while engaging in activities I'm interested in. I'm a law student in the Philippines, but I'm on leave so I can focus more on business for the mean time. I'm also very much interested in fashion. And books. And discussing business ideas. I'm fond of learning new things.

Can anyone suggest which activities I can also occupy myself with during my stay? Activities that would suit my above-mentioned interests AND allow me to meet new friends, too! Thank you so much in advance for the help!

Oh, also, I still lack a few English units for my law degree. Is there a school that accepts foreign nationals for a few classes only? I only need two :)

Sorry, too many questions!

Where is it good to shop/hang out? Are there interest-oriented clubs / organizations which I can join? And are there Catholic churches which I can go to? (If none, any Christian church would be fine, too). Lastly, I hope locals can share about the basic Do's and Don'ts when in Nigeria :) I'm a very friendly and enthusiastic person, but of course I'd like to make sure my actions / appearance do not offend anyone.

I'm really excited to go there! Hope you can help me out :)

P.S.
How to get to Abuja from Lagos, by the way? Is it too far to travel by land?

Hi zabed mohammad nuruddin,

Karen was advising you to create a new thread on the Abuja forum for better visibility as this thread is from 2012. This might help you to get more fresh information. Thank you! ;)

David.

greetings Rhealeth, hope you're ok. just to respond to some of your questions...

among many things you can do in Abuja are hiking(with expat group here), fabulous restaurants (which offer different cuisine) to dine with friends.

there is a Catholic church to attend service...basically the one located at Maitama.

8 hours drive to Abuja from Lagos but 45 mins to fly from Lagos to Abuja.

do have a lovely day...

David

Thank you for your contribution.

Please note that this thread is quite old, and that Rhealeth may no more be active on the site.
