extension of visa.

At present my wife and I are looking into different ways of getting a long term visa for Mauritius.

In the beginning we may enter on a short stay 3moth tourist visa. Does anyone know if it is possible to extend this visa from within the country.

We are hoping to live in Mauritius permanently and would like our son to go to school.

Note: As a UK聽 citizen ( I am assuming based on your profile) you are entitled to a 6 months Tourist visa per calendar year.

Extension is available before the first 3 months' expiration

Note: You'll need to go the Passport office to ensure whether you have聽 to get out of the country for the extension ( it seems that some people do have to leave and some don't ) and the timeline to request that extension.
