We would appreciate any guidance

HayleyBierman

Hi everyone,
My name is Hayley. I am from South Africa and really wanting to make a move to Mauritius this year with my family. I am a qualified teacher and school principal with 15 years teaching experience, of which 7 are remedial and all inclusive. I am hard working, passionate about making a difference, believe that most activities should be hands on activities to implement learning, always studying further and love researching new methods etc. My husband runs his own printing company here in South Africa- however use to own and run his own restaurant a few years ago as well. We have twins currently age 2 and would like to offer them a life at the sea and out of Johannesburg, our big very busy city in South Africa.
We would appreciate any guidance on how to secure a job offer; how to find property to rent etc. At this stage we are not fussy - we would be really excited even about working in a restaurant serving tables if necessary to make our dream come true. Many thanks and blessings.
Hayley and Family :)

Hi Hayley !
Education in Mauritius is run by the Government principally, though there are a few private institutions. And its here that you can find a teaching job.
However, the avenue for business is broader, printing, restaurant, etc... Why not get your husband to give this a serious thought. The moreso, he has the expertise!
Accommodation and the rest should not be a problem.
Good luck,
Jaren

Not to be condescending , it would be a good idea to read the expat guide to familiarise yourself on how to   work and live on the island.

You will not get a resident permit to work serving tables in a restaurant if you ( husband and wife)  don't own it. Be cognizant of the rules on gaining employment on the island

As a teacher, try the private schools - you will have more luck .

Good luck in fulfilling your dream
