Tours & travel business in Mauritius

nishu1432

I am an Indian and as side Business I would like to organise tours & travel business in Mauritius meaning sending people from Mauritius to India. I want to know what Mauritian likes to see in India (Like shopping, Temple, sightseeing Etc) and for how many days Mauritian like to travel to India?

I know Mauritians like shopping a lot in India, because you get better quality and cheaper things in India than in Mauritius. I'd say especially when it comes to clothes, jewelry, etc.

As for sightseeing, i think they would be interested in historical and religious landmarks.

But Mauritians are generally quite at home in India because of the common heritage, i'm not sure if there is a very big market for organised tours. But there could.

You could try tapping into the expat community. As Islander316 said there is a common heritage, so in theory if an expat enjoys the Mauritian heritage you might be able to leverage off of that.

Have you thought about the legal aspect of this? Tour operator and travel business are highly regulated and you need appropriate licenses for this. As long as everything runs fine you don't have any major problem, but once a customer complains to the authorities you might run into big trouble. There are heavy fines at stake.

Be careful.

Hi,
I agree with Nadeem. He is an expert in this field and he guided me when I needed his assistance.

I and I am sure many Mauritians of a certain age are interested in visiting the area where their ancestors came from(mostly Bihar).Since it’s not included in the itinerary for tourists it’s not easy to travel solo.I am usually persuaded not to go for security reasons by both Mauritians and Indians.I would welcome a travel agency that would facilitate my visit or offer advice.

Hi, tourism is a regulated industry here  and you will have to be licensed by the authorities.
Why don't you try the other way round, like sending Indian tourists to Mauritius?
