I spent several months looking for a kayak when we arrived last year. I found Resinglass in Calebasses makes the fiberglass ones you see at most of the hotels, better for playing, not so much for kayaking regularly.

Nabridas is the distributor for the Feel Free brand and has quite a good selection. I bought the Nomad for around 17k rs with paddle and backrest and have been very pleased.

Thanks so much for getting back! We are looking for 2 really just for some exercise. Had a look at Nabridas new ones for 2 @ 14500 ea. I understand the fishing kayaks are more expensive,so really looking for somethings a bit less. If we don't come right elsewhere maybe we could have a look

I have been looking for kayaks too and doing a bit of research as well, no luck - even the classifieds have been unfruitful. Let me know if you guys come right, perhaps if we buy 3 the dealer will give us a special discount..? Can't help but try

One of the sporting goods stores in the Jumbo-Riche Terre location has kayaks, but I'm afraid that I don't recall the price. I'll check up on that the next time I'm there.

I imported a double kayak (Toucan) from C-Kayak in Durban.  Price was R6900.  The single was R5900.  Shipped in a container.  I can maybe arrange a few more if there is some interest.  Check specs at c-kayak.co.za.  These are the kayaks that Les Willows uses for his round-the-island kayak tours. We've decided on a double after looking at Willows tour around Mauritius.  Looks like great fun.  We'll do a bit of research this week and let you know.
